[texts]Flight Tests Of Rocket Powered "Tin Can" Models Of AAF Project MX-800 - United States. National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics.
"Flight tests were made of six noainstrumented rocket-powered "Tin-Can" models of AAF Project MX-800. Telocity and drag data vere obtained by use of CW Doppler radar. The existence of stability and adequate structural strength for flight near zero lift vas checked by visual and photographic observation. Drag data obtained during the tests agreed reasonably well with estimates based 011 experimental data from NACA EM -2 rocket-powered drag research models." Digitized by Technical Report Archive &...

[texts]Data Obtained In The Flight Measurements To Determine The Stability And Control Characteristics Of A C-54D Airplane (AAF No. 42-72713) And A Summary Of The Test Program - United States. National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics.
"The flight investigation of the C—54D airplane was initiated to determine the necessity of changes or additions to existing handling- qualities requirements to cover- the case of instrument approaches with large airplanes. This paper gives a "brief synopsis of the results and presents the measured data of tests to determine the stability and control characteristics." [texts]An Investigation of the Release Characteristics of a 1/30 Dynamically-Scaled AVCO Booster Vehicle from the Simulated Bomb Bay of the B-52 Airplane: COORD. No. AF-AM-59 - United States. National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics.
"An investigation has been conducted in the 27- by 27-inch preflight jet of the Langley Pilotless Aircraft Research Station at Wallops Island, Va., of the release characteristics of a dynamically scaled AVCO booster vehicle, internally carried store model from a 1130-scale simulated bomb bay of the B-52 airplane at Mach numbers of 0.64 and 0.93. Simulated altitudes were -11,800 feet and 50,000 feet." Digitized by Technical Report Archive & Image Library (TRAIL).

[texts]Measurements of the Lateral and Directional Stability and Control Characteristics of a P-51H Airplane (AAF No. 44-64164) - United States. National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics.
"Flight tests of a F-51H airplane with two different vertical—tail assemblies were made to determine lateral and directional stability and control characteristics. The airplane had satisfactory directional stability in the landing, approach, and wave-off conditions with either tail. In the power— on clean and glide conditions, however 9 the airplane had weak directional stability with the original tail...

[texts]Flight Investigation of Effect of Various Vertical-Tail Modifications on the Directional Stability and Control Characteristics of the P-63A-1 Airplane (AAF No. 42-68889) - United States. National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics.
"Because the results of preliminary flight tests had indicated the; P-63A-I airplane possessed insufficient directional stability, the NACA and the manufacturer (Bell Aircraft Corporation) suggested three vertical-tail modifications to remedy the deficiencies in the directional characteristics. These modifications included an enlarged vertical tail formed, by adding a tip extension to the original vertical tail, a large sharp-edge ventral fin, and a small dorsal fin." [texts]The Aileron As An Aid To Recovery From The Spin - Neihouse, A. I.
"As part of a general investigation by the NACA of factors that affect the spin, the use of the aileron as an aid to recovery from the spin was studied. Tests of 10 different models, covering a wide range of mass distribution, were made in the NACA free-spinning tunnel to determine the effects of a large downward deflection of the outboard aileron and a normal angular deflections of the ailerons upon recovery"Digitized by www.dtic.mil
